WINONA  RIVERTOWN  LIONS  CLUB

MARCH  2004 NEWSLETTER

Message from your  club President

March 2004

Greetings:

I hoe everyone is surviving the cold weather we’ve had lately. I am sure wishing I were going somewhere warm. Oh well, spring will be here soon then all will feel better. It’s such a nice time of the year, after the winter it gives you something to look forward to in the outdoors.

Many of us attended the Midwinter Convention in Austin January 30 – 31 & February 1st. It was my first time attending, & I really enjoyed it. Friday we listened to the Spamettes for entertainment, was really enjoyable. Saturday was the business meeting & sessions. I attended the session on Leaderdogs & the Hearing Foundation. It makes you proud to be a Lion to see where our time & money is used to help such good causes.

Coming up in March is our Bread bowl Supper March 9th at the Eagles. Be sure & get out & sell your tickets. Proceeds will go for the purchase of the Early Hearing Monitor Device.

Also March 2nd is our Zone Meeting held here in Winona at the Elks. Sunset Lions will be hosting. It would be a good opportunity to attend a Zone Meeting close to home.

The March Board Meeting will be held at the Eagles & we will be setting up for the Bread Bowl Supper the next day.

Please try to make it to the next meeting. We have lots of things to discuss.

Stay Warm

Lion Jenny
