WINONA  RIVERTOWN  LIONS  CLUB

JANUARY 2005 NEWSLETTER
Calendar of events

Hello Fellow Lions:

BURRR--- As I sit down to write this newsletter, our coldest day this winter has
arrived. It seems the older I get the less I like dealing with this season.
It was great to see a good turn out for the ALL CITY LIONS meeting on Thursday
evening. Thanks for attending on such a short notice.
Reminder, to please bring in your used eyeglasses, so I can turn them in at Midwinter
on February 5th. Also, send in your Midwinter registration by January 22nd so you can
take advantage of the discount.
For our Potluck on Monday, January 24th, the church will be open at 6:00p.m. – so
food can be nice and hot and ready to serve by 6:30p.m. Plates, utensils, and beverage
will be provided.
Increasing members is vital to the health of our club, and as your club President I’m
getting rather concerned – because OUR MEMBERSHIP CONTINUES TO DROP! We
need to be asking acquaintances to attend a meeting. I really would like to encourage
each of you to ask a friend or neighbor to join our club. You never know who might be
waiting just for you to ask them to become a Lion. Besides, we’re a fun bunch to enjoy
the Lions experience with. See you on Monday evening.

Yours in Lionism,
Pres. Sandy Lubinski

Christmas Party15 of us had a very lovely time at Judy Bs house.  We had a great dinner of cocktail shrimp, cheese ball and crackers, crudités and dip, prime rib, tossed salad, baked potatoes, broccoli, and peppermint ice cream pie with various wines.  It was a good time of enjoying a good meal and interesting conversation.  We each received a gift of holiday salt and pepper shakers.  I think it was a success!
