WINONA  RIVERTOWN  LIONS  CLUB <>JULY 2005 NEWSLETTER
Calendar of events

Greetings!  I trust that by the time this message reaches each of you, summer will be in its top form and all of you are enjoying its short Minnesota visit.
Congratulations to all of the newly elected officers and board members and thanks to the retiring Rivertown Lions board members who have served in their positions for the past year. The next twelve months will be filled with challenges and successes as the club strives to continue to follow the Lions motto: We Serve.  However, together we can enjoy the success that stems from dedication to the cause, and a determination to continue in the effort to interact with the community with positive and productive efforts.
The annual potluck picnic is planned for July 25 at Ginny Motl’s home  (Chganged to Grace Presbyterian church due to Ginny,s mothers death).  A brief meeting of retiring and incoming board members will meet at 5:30 pm with a potluck meal to follow. New member Debbie Maus will be inducted at this meeting.
On August 20 a road trip to Camp Winnebago is scheduled, with a meal provided at the facility. Transportation plans, departure site and meal cost are to be determined  with information  provided at the July meeting.
Any member who has thoughts or ideas regarding new fundraising or service efforts is encouraged to share them at any meeting.  The monthly meeting is the simplest and most expedient method to develop and discuss new and different, or old and same, ideas and plans.
Dates for upcoming projects will be included in the next newsletter
Relax, stay cool and enjoy the summer!

Fellow Lions,
The Minnesota Lions Eye Bank and Hearing Foundation will again be
sponsoring an informational booth at the State Fair this year. Our

the Fair, Thursday, August 25th. We need voilunteers for each of the
three hour shifts that day. Shifts are 9am to noon, noon to 3pm, 3pm to
6pm and 6pm to 9pm. If you or your club would like to help with this
very important project please contact me as soon as possible.
