FROM BEHIND THE GAVEL

This is the time of year when we evaluate the past and look ahead to the future with its many challenges, promises and opportunities.  Is it true that one surety for all is that time is a great equalizer—every hour has sixty minutes for every person?
The Midwinter Convention is scheduled for the end of January.  This is a good opportunity for new members to learn more about what Lions Clubs are doing in the area.  The breakout sessions are short, but informative.
Thanks to District Governor Al Fravert and his partner in service, Randi Fravert,.for participating at the November potluck meeting.
More information regarding a service project for the club will be shared at the January meeting.  The board will meet at 6:15 and the membership meeting will be at 7:00 pm.
Happy 2006!
Arlene

An All City Lions Dinner, hosted by the Sunset Lions Club, will be held on Thursday, January 12 at the Elks Club, The social hour will start at 6 pm with the dinner to follow at 6:30 pm.  The menu will be based on an Italian theme with the price yet to be decided, but should be approximately $10.00.  The speaker will be a military person who has returned from a tour of duty in Iraq.
