FROM BEHIND THE GAVEL

The month of March is shaping up to be very busy indeed for the Rivertown Lions
Club—the Breadbowl Soup Supper, the Zone Dinner Meeting and the Project Compass
St, Patrick’s Day Dance service project fill the schedule.  However, isn’t it great to be
filled with the Lions spirit “deep in our hearts”?
Thanks to Helen Newell, Project Compass Coordinator, for making an excellent
presentation at the last meeting.  I look forward to working with Helen on the St.
Patrick’s Day Dance project.
Club officer elections are soon to be held, and this is an excellent way to be more
involved with the organization as well.
The term “Other” on the agenda items of business list is placed there for a reason.  If, any
member has any item she feels needs discussion, the term “Other” indicates that this is
the time to discuss or mention  whatever that item may be.  Every member is not only
encouraged to take this opportunity, but it is necessary to update all the members on
whatever situation concerns or involves the club. At every meeting,
I allow time for the “Other” agenda item to be discussed, so feel free to take advantage of
this opportunity to bring news or concerns to the membership.
News regarding the Diabetes Screening Health Fair scheduled for November will be
shared at the March meeting.
