WINONA  RIVERTOWN  LIONS  CLUB
APRIL 2006 NEWSLETTER
Calendar of events

FROM BEHIND THE GAVEL

Graduations, weddings, confirmations and proms make this a special and busy time of
year.  Add to the mix with vacations and warm weather recreational activities and time
management becomes a real issue.
But, isn’t it great to be productive and busy yet helpful to others as well?
Erika Jerowski has the new Lions merchandise catalog and if any member wishes to order
any item,  contact her.
The All City Lions Pancake Breakfast will be held May 7.  This is a project that will
benefit vision-challenged individuals in the community.  The proceeds are designated for
a portable reading machine for the Winona Public Library.
The April 24 meeting is a potluck supper meeting starting at 6:30 pm. The Board and
Membership meeting will be combined.

APRIL MEMBERSHIP MONTH
How do we grow?  Our April meeting will be a potluck.  Please try to invite at
least one person to attend our April guest potluck meeting.  It will not be a recruit
type meeting where we will fill our guests heads with
lots of facts and figures.  We will give them an overview of Lions and an
opportunity for them to see what they can help accomplish through Lionism.

There will be a potluck sign-up at our March meeting so that we can have a
variety of food.  You don't need to decide exactly what you will bring, only what
food group you would like to bring.

Let's all try realllllllllllllllllly hard to invite at least one person to our April meeting.

The Membership Committee

Rivertown Lions Guest Night  Remember the April meeting is our guest night and potluck.
The meeting will be held at 6:15 pm.  Let's all bring at least  one guest.  We want to reach out to other community
members and let them know how great it is to be a Lion.

Bio of Debbie Maus

I was born and raised in Winona. I have 2 brothers and 5 nieces and nephews. My mother passed away a few years ago but my Father is still alive and doing very well at the age of 85. I started working at the Winona Clinic in 1979 after I graduated from Winona State. I am still there 27 years later. I married Bryce Maus about year and half ago. I do not have any children of my own but have two step children. Lindsay is 19 and Brett is 16. I have an old English sheep dog named Millie and a miniature beagle named Shaq. The beagle is actually Bretts. We also have a cat named Mayzie. I love to sew and do counted cross stitch. I just recently took up knitting.  We built a house right before we were married and are now it  the process of decorating and getting the landscaping done. It seems to take for ever. Bryce and I are both looking forward to doing some traveleing. Both of us are history buffs and like to vacation in areas of historic significance. I have enjoyed the short time I have been with the Lions, and am looking forward to working on the upcoming activities.
