FROM BEHIND THE GAVEL

Hello Ladies-

Hello Ladies-

I went to Lewiston’s 50th Anniversary.  Wow, what an accomplishment.  They had one charter member
there.  Someone asked me how long I was from 50 years.  My reply was 3 down and 47 to go!!!!!  I think if
our club hits 50 we should celebrate that!  What a milestone.  They stated how much they have raised over
the years for the town of Lewiston.  It was incredible!  Maybe when we are at community events we should
put something on a poster stating how much we have raised. I think we need to remind ourselves and others
just what we can accomplish as a club!  Each year maybe not be much but add a few years together and its
more than we realize!!!!!

Today was the pancake breakfast. I hope it went well!  Dave Kulas put our picture in the Governor’s
newsletter when we stood by the newborn screener.

We had elections at the last meeting.  Thanks everyone for volunteering!  I will try and serve you as your
President again.  Deb Maus will be Secretary, Sue Nielsen and Jenny Kluver will be VP, Tail Twister will
be Ginny Mott, Tail Tamer will be Gena Benson, Treasure will be Pat Quinn, Director will be Julie
Monson.  Thanks again.

Don’t forget our fundraiser this month.  Julie’s Jewelry.  Julie we really appreciate your help with this!!!!

Kathy and I met about the Wagon Train Lunch.  We came up with a game plan and will let the club know
more at the next meeting.  Governor Jack said he and his wife will help us.  He said to let them know how
many people we need to help.  I really dont think this will be difficult!  I just hope for nice weather!

School of instruction is May 29th at 6 pm in Rochester as the Radisson. The cost is $15 for supper.  We
should meet at Sauer at 5 pm. and car pool. We will fill out the form at our meeting of whose going.

Lastly, Helen Newall called on Friday.  She asked if two people could help out with the Ice Cream Social
again.  She has money this year to reimburse our club for the ice cream and toppings.  She asked if anyone
like to dance.  They should ask the participants to dance with them.  They love that. Friday, August 24th
from 7pm - 9pm at the West End Rec.  I said I will call her back with our reply.

Yours in Lionism,

President Tracy Braaten
