Posted by HBC Newsdesk July 10, 2013

All this week Winona’s Habitat for Humanity ReStore will be celebrating its 10th anniversary.

Speaking at a special ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday afternoon, Habitat For Humanity Winona-Fillmore Counties executive director Nancy Iglesias said the Winona ReStore was the first of its kind in Minnesota. Now there are 11 ReStores across the state. Proceeds for the local store help to offset building costs associated with home building. Last year Iglesias said the Winona store grossed nearly $250,000 is sales. Through the years the store has helped fund the construction of nearly 50 local homes.

Habitat ReStore had been closed for the past week while volunteers did some cleaning and rearranging in preparation for the big day.

Store manager Tom Connell said there are a number of activities planned for the week including giveaways and merchandise discounts.

The ReStore is located at 77 Laird Street in Winona. Store hours are Wednesday through Friday from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm and Saturday 9:00 am until 4:00 pm.
