Hand Launch Golf Event

at Western Skies Country Club

A few of the planes awaiting hand launch golf.  See Al run. He is trying to keep up with his Mirage HL glider.

Skip Miller controls his plane while riding in the golf cart. That's flexing the old noodle.  Foam inserts in the holes were called "noodles".

Joe lines up to hit the noodle. Housing surrounded the golf course closely on two sides of a narrow course. There were water hazards to go around on the course. Luckily no one crashed in the water.

Top three left to right: Joe Wurts, Paul Anderson, and John Erickson. Joe and Paul had a climatic fly-off with Joe winning in the second and third flights.  Paul got amazing launch height for a conventional launch. How he missed the obstacles in the parking lot amazed me. This plane knocked the ball off the short noodle.

And if you are tired of looking at airplane pictures, here is a cute little dog to look at. Al's bowl of oatmeal, gave him energy to fly all day.
If you didn't stay at the Super 8, this was the next best thing!
