internet. Check out this link:Ham radio is a hobby of mine. I got my license in May of 1995 and upgraded to Technician Plus in July of 1995. I upgraded to a General on March 11, 1996, and upgraded again to Advanced on March 28,1996. I upgraded to Extra on June 30, 1997 and change my call sign on July 17, 1997. My call sign is K0NY formerly KI0BZ formerly KB0SSJ.
I work HF, VHF, and UHF. My HF work is half CW on 10, 15, 20, 30, 40 and 80 meters. I also work side band mostly on 10, 15, 20 and 40 meters.
My friend Matt, KF0Q, got me interested in weak signal work. Santa brought to me a Yaesu FT847 for Christmas, 1999. With that transceiver I have worked satellite. I put up a tower for VHF and UHF antenna. I am now on 144 MHz and 432 MHz. It is amazing but I have worked Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, and Illinois on 144 MHz. I have also worked South Dakota as my first satellite contact. I should also thank Roger, KI0F.
I am now organizing for 5 Band WAS. I would like to have it done in a couple of years. I guess I need to be more active during contests. I have about 49 states on both 20 and 40 meters CW and I will concentrate there first.
I have worked a several hundred or so Dx stations so far. I have contacted about 137 countries but only have 94 confirmed so far.
I am a member of the Winona Amateur Radio Club. I am on the repeater committee. The club meets the third Thursday of the month, at the Winona County Annex. We also have informal breakfasts at Prime Cake and Steak on the first, third and fifth Saturdays of the month at 08:15.
