March Craft for Shut-ins
Easter comes early this year, so our March craft will be one that reminds us of the new birth, new life that Easter brings to us.  It will be an Easter chick hatching from an egg.  This brightly colored project made by the children in our Sunday School (with the help of their families) will be sure to bring Easter joy to our shut-ins.

VBS IS COMING!
This year Vacation Bible School's theme will be The Miracles of Jesus.  Children ages Kindergarten - grade 5 will be encouraged to attend and also invite a friend to come.  The four day VBS will be held June15-19 (Sunday - Wednesday) from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.  Please mark your calendar.  This is an event you will not want to miss!

Camp Wyoming Staff Person Will Speak
Summer may seem far away, but in only a month it will be time to sign up for going to Camp Wyoming!!!  Our church camp has programs available for families, children as young as kindergarten and as old as senior high school!  Sometime this spring a staff person from Camp Wyoming will be at our church to explain the programs offered and answer any questions you may have.
Remember that our first-Sunday-of-the-month offering (in Sunday School) goes to Camp Wyoming programs and facilities.  Also our church will pay 50 % of the cost for each camper to attend Camp Wyoming this year.  The small tent on the counter in the Fellowship Hall is for donations for the camp scholarship funding.  Thank you for your help!

The Lord's Prayer and Ten Commandments
Besides what the children are learning in their weekly Bible lessons in Sunday School, ages 3 - grade 6 are working a few minutes each week on learning to say the Lord's Prayer and Ten Commandments.  As each of these is learned, the student receives an Inspirational Power Bracelet reward.  Families can help by repeating these with their children at home.  This will be an on going learning objective for the children through their Sunday School years.  Our goal is that they know these by 7th grade.
The Grades 4-6 class is also working on learning to say in order all 66 books of the Old and New Testaments!

No Sunday School Classes on Easter
There will be no Sunday School classes held on Easter Sunday, March 23.

A delicious lunch of hot ham and cheese sandwiches and various salads was served by the members of the Reedsburg church.
Other routine business of the Presbytery was conducted.
The  Presbytery meetings in 2008 will be Tuesday, May 20, First Presbyterian Church, Waunakee, WI, Saturday, August 16, Canton - Scotland Presbyterian Church, Canton, MI, and Tuesday, November 18, Westminister Presbyterian Church, Dubuque, IA.

HOME DELIVERED MEALS
April is our month to deliver meals. The route is well planned
and fairly short. We ask volunteers to deliver one day a week
for the month. One can deliver alone but it sometimes is more
fun to have a partner. Meals are picked up by 10:45 am at the
Steak Shop Catering on E. Mark. To volunteer or ask for more
information, contact Dorothy Gilbertson. A sign up sheet will
be on the bulletin board. Please help us with this community
service. You will find it is time well spent.
ONE GREAT HOUR OF SHARING
Presbyterian Disaster Assistance receives one-third of the
OGHS offering. They have sent a National Response Team,
trained to respond to traumatic situations, to DeKalb, IL where
several students were shot at the University. PDA is also in
contact with presbyteries in the area of the recent tornadoes to
develop and implement assistance plans. Money from OGHS
will be sent and a National Response Team will be sent if
necessary. And as we know, PDA sent money and help to SE
MN after the devastating floods.
These are only three examples of the work being done by the
Presbyterian Church with funds given by its members through
OGHS..
The Presbyterian Hunger Fund and Self Development of People
are the other two areas supported by funds from OGHS.
We will be taking the special offering on Easter but donations
are welcome any time during Lent. Envelopes were sent out in
the last newsletter and are also available in the pockets of the
chairs in the Sanctuary. Give once, or several times, but please
support this very important program of the Presbyterian Church
(USA). Thank you.

Mark your calendars!!
The annual Salad Luncheon will be
held on April 5th!
And the Pie Sale will be May 10th

The Annual Chow Mein Dinner
will be Saturday, March 1,2008 from 4-7
pm. Tickets are $7.00 for adults, $3.50 for
children (hot dogs). We have mailed out
tickets for you to sell or purchase.

We also need your help to work and for donations of
groceries or money.
Sign-up sheets are up, so please check the bulletin board.
Proceeds will go toward the budget (if needed), otherwise it
will go to the capital improvement fund or for other
projects as they arise.
