WINONA  RIVERTOWN  LIONS  CLUB
OCTOBER 2005 NEWSLETTER
Calendar of events

FROM BEHIND THE GAVEL . . . .

When the Rivertown Lions October edition of the newsletter is printed, the Fall 2005 Breadbowl Soup Supper will be a part of history, and a successful event it was.  A word of appreciation is given to everyone who assisted in ensuring that the project was planned and presented well.
The November Zone Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 22 at the Elks Club. Rivertown Lions Club will host this event with Kathy McGuire serving as Project Chairperson.  I invite all of you, and each of you, to attend and participate in this meeting as it provides not only an opportunity to meet Lions from clubs in the area, but also learn more about what others are doing in the spirit of Lionism.  As Martha would say “It’s a good thing.”
November is also the month for the District Governor to visit.  A potluck meal will be a part of the meeting, and, once again this will be an opportunity to not only enjoy others’ culinary expertise, but gain insight into
what Lions can do and do to continue the tradition of serving their communities.
While Dorothy Tomten is on the road to recovery, I will be the temporary contact person for the Joys and Concerns service.  Call me at 454-2227 if you know of a fellow Rivertown Lions Club member who has a special occasion in her life and would appreciate a message from the club.
Thanks everyone for your efforts in whatever you do to promote the Lions spirit.
