Hi everybody.
The fall colors are looking awesomely beautiful!  This really is a beautiful area of the state.  Our zone
meeting next month will be held in the new Legion building so that should be nice.  Randi Fravert is visiting
our club at the October meeting.  Hope to see you all there!

OLD BUSINESS
November Zone Meeting is hosted by us.  The Committee will be Kathy McGuire, Sandy Lubinski and
Grace Miner.  It will be Thursday, November 20th at possibly the Elks ( not confirmed yet )
 
White Cane Days  Collected $800.00.  We will donate $400.00 to  the Mac Center
 
Zone Meeting September 16th in Plainview. Good Food. %100 attendance for the zone, 3 out of 5 of our
members won door prizes.
 
The Leader Dog Tour was cancelled  not enough to go
 
NEW BUSINESS
 
Diabetic Expo November 8th at WSU  Watkins will Donate a basket worth $25.00, a sign up to help sheet
was passed around.  A suggestion was made to send a basket filled with sugar free candy or gum.
 
October 4th is  Puttin on the Ritz at Camp Winnebago Dining Hall
 
October 11th  Leadership Forum  8:00 until 12:00 at the Heintz Center ( RCTC)- Tracy Braaten will be
attending, possibly Maureen Gorman
 
Joint Meeting will be 1-8-09.  The District Govenor will be there. The Sunset Lions would like ideas for the
meeting
 
The Bread Bowl date is 2-24-09 at the Eagles
 
Our Speaker was DG Ron Norton. He presented Jenny Kluver and Tracy Braaten each with a Melvin Jones
award

Double Good Banana Cake

3 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1 pkg. (4 serving size) Instant banana cream pudding
1.5 cups (3 med.) mashed ripe bananas
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/3 cup milk
2 tsp. rum extract
4 eggs

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.  Generously grease and flour 12 cup
fluted tube pan (non-stick finish pan, too).  In a large bowl, blend all
ingredients; beat 3 minutes at medium speed.  Pour into pan and bake for
60 to 75 minutes until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool upright in pan for 15 minutes; turn onto serving plate.  Cool.
Spoon glaze over cake.
Glaze

1.5 cups powdered sugar
2 T. butter or margarine, softened
1/2 to 1 T. rum extract
1 to 2 T. milk

Blend until smooth.

I made a thicker icing but do whatever you wish.
