Certifications
We
operate a fleet of Pilot Cars that is specialized for various purposes. We have chase cars reserved for Modular Home
Transport through carriers like Greiss Mobile Transport in Montevideo that are
equipped differently than our Long Haul, Super Load, or High Pole
Vehicles. Our Long Haul vehicles are
set up to according to Utah standards, which we believe require the most
exhaustive list of Safety Equipment in the country. Our Long Haul drivers carry Virginia
Certifications, the most widely accepted certification in the industry.
We
carry a $1 million liability policy through Progressive Insurance, which covers
our entire current fleet of eight Pilot
Cars.

Biographical Information
Winona Pilot Car Service, llc has been “Serving America’s
Heavyweights” for over 25 years. The
company was originally formed by Melvin Praxel and has operated from both
Winona, MN and Trempealeau, WI over the past quarter century. The current owners include Pilot Car drivers
who have been involved with the company for all of those years. We employ many CDL drivers with OTR
experience and also provide our own In-House training that is above and beyond
the certification courses required by states like Virginia and Utah. All of our vehicles are equipped for High
Pole, Lead or Chase and carry Wright Express fuel cards and Comdata Comchecks
along with all the required safety and
communications equipment. We have
our own in-house safety program using materials from
Hulk Heavy Haul and materials we have developed on our own.
