These songs present many of the basic ideas of Christian Faith in words that children learn and remember easily. Some are based on the words and stories of Jesus and others celebrate the wonder of God's care and love. They offer new ways for children to learn God's meaning and purpose for their lives. There are songs appropriate for special times of the church year as well as songs which will fit in throughout the year.

These are unique songs that let children experience the joy of singing about familiar things. With ìwords that fit their world and music that fits the wordsî the songs are ideal for people who work with children in schools, homes, care centers, preschools or hospitals. Each song builds a strong visual image with its distinctive poetry and imaginative wit. This image is carefully recreated in the music, making it especially easy to teach and learn. Suggestions are included to make it simple to get the most from each song. Activities are suggested that help children enjoy and learn each song easily. Cassettes with simple recordings are also available.

Ruth Anfinson Bures is a graduate of Drake University (music education) and St. Mary's University (ME). She has taught music at the preschool, elementary, junior and senior high levels. She currently teaches at Winona State University.
