The inaugural outing for Boomer was, well, impressive. I couldn't get my PGP working (read the post from Dejanews...), and I don't trust the "Hope Nelspot". So I grabbed the case with the KP-2 and figured "Why not?" Besides, it's CLOSE to a PGP, right? I switched from Comet to Boomer just before lunch, and played the first game ever in a scenario style called "Civil war". You can only feel paint into the gun 1 ball at a time. They let my KP-2 slide, as it was a stock gun.

As you can see by the picture, it was an intresting game. Knowing the format I charged the field and made it 3/4 the way down. I tried to slide into the bunker, but instead unceremoniously crashed into it instead. For my efforts I scared the pants off of the two center guys. Then I got lit up by a tourney guy who cheated by holding 10 paintballs in his hand and rapidfiring. ((SIGH)) I figured "Whatever." If you have to bend rules to win paintball games, then you really don't deserve to win. But, I'm a purist. | ![]() |
After the lunch break we got a quick pickup game of speedball going. 5 on 5, the heavy hitters were on one side. With a KP-2 I managed to hold them back for 6 minutes. They picked off my teammates, and one guy charged me. We got each other in a final dash. (My ego says I got him first, but what the heck. It's a game.)
We played out in the woods the rest of the day in a 3 team style. I tangles with the tournament guy a few times, and came out more ahead than behind. It's amazing how a stock gun can keep people at bay. I'm also wondering how a player can go from barely bouncing balls to my position to ripping the bark off of the trees behind me by ducking back a little? I thought it was hillarious, myself.
