Over the times, I've contemplated doing some really stupid things with Comet. Nothing deadly or suicidal (like wandering the woods at night in deer season...) No, but we've talked about a lot of things. I put them in here, on the off chance that someone actually WANTS to help me do one of these things.

Tournaments

Yes, I've talked about this seriously. At the '97 ZAP Am. "Comet" was to play tourney ball. "Why?" Why not? the idea was a 'toss together' team of people from the internet, and play 'ball. No strain, no pressure, just a good week of paintball. The problem was cost. I couldn't afford to go (Or, more correctly, the biz couldn't afford to go...) So I'm out to dry. Oh well, that's paintball for ya.

On the same thought, we were going to field a "Got-ya" team called "Walt's Worst Nightmare". Comet (Masquerading as.... bambi... I still shudder...), Kennedy with his "Goofy" hat, and another person who would be similarly dressed. Not playing to win, but just having a good time. That died with the Zap dreams.

I also had talked about getting a team together of players ALL dressed in deer costumes and going for "Best Dressed" award at any given tourney. I don't feel like making a dozen more of these things, nor am I prepared to ask anyone else to do it either. But, It's a thought. A team called "Santa's Union 151"...

Sponsorship

I have this pipe dream that a company will get wind of "Comet" and sponsor me. I mean, what could be more high profile? A guy in a deer costume (who gets his picture taken by a lot of people on the fields...) using a sponsored product... think of the ads! "Sometimes even timid woodland creatures need to rock & roll!" with myself holding an Autococker crashing through the brushline or something...

Hey, why not? It sure as hell beats the "Flame Broiled" ads for the Spyders!

Celebrity

Well, seeing as I'm the most famous non-celebrity around, perhaps I can go the 'mascot' route and gain fame by association. Yes, it's greedy and it's ego building, but I need all the ego-building I can get! I get bashed enough on the usenet...

Anyhow, Going to big games has always been fun for me. I want to get to more with Comet in tow. I think it's the 'herding', or it may just be the scope of the event that I like. I'm not really sure. But, I can't afford to go to all of these things. And it would be nice to. But, that's not likely. The easiest way to fame is tournaments (place well, sponsor well, get more sponsors, and eventually everyone knows you...) Sure, Durty Dan did it without tourneys, but he also wrote over 175 articles to do it!

Other Critters

As of right now, I'm not sewing anything in particular. Actually, I'm not sewing anything at all. My next project is some camo I'll be field testing and abusing. But sometime soon I will be making another crittersuit for paintball. A "Tiger" (much like the one on the homepage, but this one will be paintball specific.)

But I've been contemplating doing other critters too. It all depends on a few things, like time, money, and lack of either. I've also been asked "How do you make one of those?" for halloween games and what not (the guy specifically asked for a 'bear costume'...) Well, The tiger suit will be a pictorial essay, and I'll be showing how to make a crittersuit for paintball.

Regular Play with Comet

This is the least likely of all the scenarios. Mainly because "Comet" isn't really sturdy. I don't have faith in the material to hold together in regular play. Besides, I have my cat ears and tail for regular play. Comet is just a big-game creature.

Isn't that useless?
