Introduction to Theatre | A general education course that exams the people, processes and theories used in the theatre today along with a brief survey of the history of theatre from it's beginnings in ancient Greece to todays modern world theatre. |

Stagecraft I | A general education course that introduces the student to all areas of technical theatre including; scenery construction equipment and techniques, rigging, lighting and sound equipment, costume theories and equipment, properties classifications, color theory, and basic design concepts. |

Stagecraft II | A continuation of Stagecraft I that instructs the students in the history and technology of stage lighting, costume construction techniques and materials, furniture construction, and basic technical drafting. |
| Theatre 293/393 | Introduction to Design | The first of the theatre design sequence that gives the student an introduction to the media, techniques, and theories used in all areas of theatre design. Time is also spent studying the basics of script analysis and design concept development. |
| Humanities 232A | Literature
to Stage & to Film |
A general education course that examines the transitions that literature goes through as it is adapted to the stage and to the screen. Through class discussions, papers, and projects the students investigate the reasons why the original writings are changed and hopefully gain a better understanding and appreciation of the material. |
