HD-uDTA Quick Start Guide Instructions

Connecting and Watching your HD-uDTA

  1. Connect the HD-uDTA to your TV.
    a. Connect a coaxial cable from the cable wall outlet to the CABLE IN connector on the HD-uDTA.
    a. For a standard TV, connect a coaxial cable to the TO TV connector on the HD-uDTA and the CABLE/ANTENNA IN on the TV. For a HDTV, connect the HDMI cable from the HDMI connection on the HDTV to the HDMI connection on the HD-uDTA.
  2. Turn on the HD-uDTA.
    a. Plug the HD-uDTA power cord into the back of the unit.
    b. Plug the other end into a non-switched wall outlet. The HD-uDTA will turn on automatically.
  3. Tune your TV to the required channel. If you are viewing from an HDTV, tune to the input where your DTA is plugged in.
    1. If you are not viewing from an HDTV, turn on your TV and ensure that it is tuned to either channel 3 or 4.
    2. On the back of the HD-uDTA, ensure that the CH 3/4 switch is set to the same channel as your TV.

– If your TV screen is blank or you have no sound, the cable connections may be mixed up. After plugging a cable into the CABLE IN or TO TV connector, be sure to plug the other end of the cable into the corresponding connector on your TV or other A/V component. If you have questions regarding the installation of your VCR with your HD-uDTA, a customized installation may be required. Please call (888) 474-9995 to schedule a technician to install your HD-uDTA with your VCR.

Programming The Motorola URC2068 Remote

Your remote control is simple to program, easy to use, and can operate two (2) electronic devices, which include:

  • HD-uDTA – Motorola HD (High-Definition) Universal Digital Transport Adapter
  • TV – Television
  1. Turn on the TV by pressing the POWER button on your television set
  2. On your remote, press SETUP until the LED blinks twice
  3. Pressing the TV POWER, the LED should remain on
  4. Press the numbered button Listed for your TV brand (example: press the 6 button for all Samsung Tvs.)
    • 1 = Insignia/Dynex
    • 2 = LG/Zenith
    • 3 = Mitsubishi
    • 4 = Panasonic
    • 5 = Philips/Magnavox
    • 6 = Samsung
    • 7 = Sharp
    • 8 = Sony
    • 9 = Toshiba
    • 0 = Vizio
  5. Let go of the numbered key when your TV turns off and setup is complete.

Before you can use your remote control, it must be programmed (setup) to operate your TV. Two (2) blinks from the LED light means setup was a success, one (1) long blink means setup was not successful. If the “Remote Control User’s Guide” code book was not provided in your installations kit or you no longer have it, please click here to download the HBC Remote Control Handbook. If your TV screen is blank or you have no sound, you may have not completed all of the installation and activation steps. Please ensure each step of the installation and activation has been completed. If problems(s) still persist, please contact Wizards Technical Support at (877) 457-9669.

Important handling and installation instructions

  • Install the HD-uDTA away from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, and stoves.
  • Do not operate the HD-uDTA in extreme weather conditions.
  • Do not place the HD-uDTA in an enclosed area where the cooling vents are blocked or impede the ow of air through the ventilation openings.
  • Position the HD-uDTA with at least 3 inches of space on all sides.
  • Place the HD-uDTA on a at surface that is not prone to vibration or impact.
  • Do not install the HD-uDTA in an area where condensation occurs.

DTA100 Quick Start Guide Instructions

Connecting and Watching your DTA100

  1. Connect the DTA100 to your TV.
    1. Connect a coaxial cable from the cable wall outlet to the CABLE IN connector on the DTA100.
    2. Connect a coaxial cable to the TO TV connector on the DTA100 and the CABLE/ANTENNA IN on the TV.
  2. Turn on the DTA100.
    1. Plug the DTA100 power cord into the back of the unit.
    2. Plug the other end into a non-switched wall outlet. The DTA100 will turn on automatically.
  3. Connect the Remote Extender (Optional).
    When you place the DTA100 out of view, you must use the Remote Extender for the DTA100 to receive commands from the remote control.

    1. If you wish to place your DTA100 out of view, you can affix Velcro squares to the two mounting squares on the bottom of the DTA100. Once in place, you can use the Velcro squares to attach the DTA100 to the back of the TV or within the entertainment system.
    2. Insert the connector of the Remote Extender in the IR IN port and position the opposite end of the Remote Extender in view of the remote control (e.g. attached to the top of the TV).
  4. Tune your TV to channel 3 or 4.
    1. Turn on your TV and ensure that it is tuned to either channel 3 or 4.
    2. On the back of the DTA100, ensure that the CH 3/4 switch is set to the same channel as your TV.

Programming the Motorola DTA100 Remote
Your remote control is simple to program, easy-to-use, and can operate two (2) electronic devices, which include:

  • DTA100 – Motorola Digital Transport Adapter
  • TV – Television

– Before you can use your remote control, it must be programmed (set-up) to operate your TV.

Some of the Special Features on your Remote Control are as Follows:

Point and Press® Programming
Lets your program your TV without codes.

Time Out
Shuts remote off if any button is pressed and held for 30 seconds. This extends battery life in the event the remote becomes lodged under or between heavy objects.

Point and Press® Programming

  1. Turn on the TV by pressing the POWER button on your television set.
  2. On your remote, press OK and then MUTE button together until the LED illuminates.
  3. Press and hold the CH Δ button until one device turns off.
  4. While you are pressing the CH Δ button, the LED will blink. As soon as one device turns off, release the CH Δ button.
  5. Press MUTE on your remote control.
    • If the TV turns back on, press OK on the remote to lock in this code. The LED will blink and go out.
    • If the TV does not turn back on, press CH one step at a time until that device turns back on. Each time you press the CH ∇ button, the LED will blink. Once you have found a code that turns the device on/off, press OK to lock in this code. The LED will blink and go out.

– If the Point and Press® Programming method does not work, please refer to the Programming And Operating Instructions code book provided in the installation kit you have received. Follow step 4: Programming Your TV – Code-Entry Programming. If the Programming And Operating Instructions code book was not provided in your installation kit or you no longer have it, please visit www.hbci.com/support to download the HBC Remote Control Handbook. If your TV screen is blank or you have no sound, you may have not completed all of the installation and activation steps. Programming Volume Control for your DTA100 Box

  1. Press the w and OK button together until the LED illuminates.
  2. Press the VOL  button on your remote, then the DTA button to program your volume.
  3. The LED will blink and go out.

Programming Volume Control for your TV

  1. Press the DTA and OK button together until the LED illuminates.
  2. Press the VOL button on your remote, then the TV button to program your TV volume.
  3. The LED will blink and go out.

Resetting your Remote Control

  1. Press the DTA and OK button together until the LED illuminates.
  2. Press MENU, then MENU again.
  3. The LED will blink and go out.
