Hard Ball: Jeff Montgomery ALCS preview edition

Jeff Montgomery spent thirteen seasons at the major league level, twelve of which were spent with the Kansas City Royals beginning in 1988 when he followed in the footsteps of Kansas City legend Dan Quisenberry. Montgomery would go on to make three All-Star appearances and close out 304 games, good for 23rd on the all-time saves list. And though Montgomery missed out on the glory days of Royals baseball, he was the stopper for two second place clubs in 1989 and ’95.

The Fox Sports Kansas City “Royals Live” broadcaster took a few moments to chat with us about the magical run the 2014 Kansas City contingent has been on, and how he sees things playing out in the American Championship Series, which gets underway on Friday night at Camden Yards in Baltimore.
