High School Hoops: Red Wing falls for first time

Despite twenty-two points from Ty Buck, the Red Wing High School boys basketball team struggled from the floor and lost for the first time this season, 61-57 to Mankato East.

Mankato East (5-5, 4-3 Big Nine) got 33 points off the bench from C.J. Ayers (16), Hussein Mohamoud (10) and Patrick Pitts (7), which helped them overcome a six-point, second half deficit.

Travis Toivonen finished with 13 points for Red Wing (7-1, 7-1), while Ben Munson had 10 and Joe Sevlie added five to go along with eight rebounds.
