Winona girls coast past Red Wing

Twelve players scored for Winona as the Winhawks eased to a fifth straight win 77-48 over Red Wing on Friday.

Hallee Hoeppner scored 15 points to lead WSHS (9-4, 7-3 Big Nine) in a convincing win over Wingers. Danneka Voegeli added 11 points and seven rebounds while Jayne Emerson scored 10. Abby Winter pulled down a game-high nine rebounds as Winona outrebounded the Wingers 46-21 on the night.

Voegeli and Hoeppner each contributed seven rebounds for the Winhawks, while Eden Nibbelink added six for WSHS.

Tayzha Buck put down a game-high 19 points for Red Wing (7-7, 6-4), while Morgan Zebro scored 11 for the Wingers, who were without the services of McKenzie Muelken.
