The Saint Mary’s University women’s and men’s basketball teams will host a doubleheader against Concordia College at SMU Gym on Saturday, and HBC will have both games for you.

On the women’s side, SMU (14-6, 8-5 MIAC) will look to get back on track after a 74-51 loss to unbeaten St. Thomas (20-0, 13-0) on Wednesday. The Cardinals have lost two in a row overall, but Mandy Pearson’s club is 6-1 at home on the year, and led by Molly O’Toole and Shelby Auseth, who top the team in both scoring and rebounding at 12.5 and 11.1 points with 5.5 and five rebounds, respectively.

Saint Mary’s will need to keep an eye on Concordia College’s (12-8, 8-5) Alley Fisher, who is firing a scintillating 43.9 percent from beyond the arc (43-for-98) on the season.

Jamison Rusthoven’s men’s squad will be looking to win their second conference game of the season and improve on their 2-7 home record. SMU’s (4-15, 1-13) roster boasts of just one player averaging more than 10 points per game (Will Swiggum, 10.8), but Mark Schumacher (9.3) and Ronnie Ortiz (9.1) are both knocking on that particular door.

The opposing player the Cardinals will need to be most attentive to will be Jordan Bolger, who leads Concordia (11-7, 7-6) with 14.9 and 7.8 rebounds per game.

Pregame for the women’s game gets underway at 12:45 with tip-off set for 1, with the men’s game to follow immediately after at 3 p.m. only on TV 25!
