Tonight on HBC Sports: Saint Mary’s women’s basketball
The Saint Mary’s women’s basketball team will look to get back into the win column after two consecutive losses when they host Carleton live on HBC on Wednesday night.
SMU (15-8, 9-7 MIAC) is coming off of a rough 75-47 loss to Gustavus, but have a 7-1 mark at home and are tied with Concordia for fourth in the MIAC.
The Cardinals will be looking to improve their shooting from the floor, as they’ve hit just 36.1 percent (39-for-108) over the past two games, and face a Carleton (8-15, 6-10) club which had given up 172 points in two losses before scratching out a one-point victory over College of Saint Benedict on February 14. The Knights are just 3-9 on the road on the season.
Molly O’Toole and Shelby Auseth lead the Saint Mary’s attack with 11.3 and 10.3 point per game, respectively. Emma Schaefer also averages nine per contest for the Mandy Pearson’s Cardinals, while Sam Jones is the lone SMU player with a field goal percentage of 50 percent for the year (44-for-88).
Pre-game gets underway at 6:45 with tip-off at 7 p.m. only on TV 25!
