High School Hoops: P-E-M girls hand D-E its first conference loss

Hayley Dessner and Sarah Hart both scored seventeen points to help No. 1 Plainview-Elgin-Millville hand No. 5 Dover-Eyota its first Three Rivers Conference defeat of the season with a 66-53 victory on Tuesday.

In winning its eighth straight, P-E-M (16-1, 12-0) unleashed a pair of runs in each half, including one of the 13-0 variety in the second which put the game away for good.

Dessner had a spectacular night with 12 rebounds and three blocks to go along with her point total.

In fact, the Bulldogs utilized their depth in pulling away from the Eagles, outscoring D-E 27-2 off the bench.

Madison Nelson paced Dover-Eyota (13-4, 10-1) with 18 points while collecting eight rebounds, six steals and three blocked shots. Megan Hintz finished with a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.

Tessa Hubbard scored 10 points for P-E-M.

The Eagles and Bulldogs will face-off on February 19 to close out the regular season, a game which will be carried on TV 25.
