High School Hoops: Shanahan leads Saints past Lake City

Carolyn Shanahan had twenty-six points to lead the streaking St. Charles girls basketball team past Lake City 59-42 on Thursday.

Though Lake City (5-12) led 24-21 at halftime, they were outscored 38-18 the rest of the way.

Amber Escobedo also scored in double figures for St. Charles (14-4), finishing with 11 points. Kileigh Schultz-Hansen added eight and Natalia VanderZanden chipped in six.

Madi Green paced the Tigers with 13 points, while Daynalyn Jostock had 10. Lake City was 10-for-12 from the free throw line.

The Saints have won 14 of their last 16 games.
