Warriors Sweep Women’s, Men’s Basketball Double-Header with Bemidji State

WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State Warriors women and men’s basketball teams both went into the New Year with wins over Bemidji State University Saturday night.

The 16th-ranked Warrior women continued their winning ways with a 76-66 win over Bemidji State at McCown Gymnasium.

Jenny Tuttle had a career high 25 points to lead Winona State (12-2, 7-1 NSIC). Three other Warriors hit double-figures. Hannah McGlone had 14 points to go with 13 rebounds, Tara Roelofs poured in 13 points and Kayla Timmerman scored 10 points.

The men’s basketball team improved to 7-5 overall and 4-4 in the NSIC with a 95-80 victory over the Beavers. The Warriors led the entire way after coming out of the gate with a 14-2 run.

Riley Bambenek had a season high 30 points including six three-pointers.  Tommy Gathje contributed 15 points, Conner Flack scored 12 points, Isaiah Gray had 11 points and Corey Jeffs contributed nine points for the Warriors.

Both the men and women’s teams will start the New Year on  the road January 6 and 7 with games against Southwest Minnesota State and the University of Sioux Falls.
