Winhawks take on Mankato West for Homecoming

Winona Senior High School took on rival Mankato West for homecoming after they just lost to them by three last year resulting in getting second in the state.

Emotions are high for these athletes as they have not won against Mankato since 2000 and this year is their year according to senior running back Robert Warren.

“We have a whole new team. Our skill players are ready to play, we are all experienced and we are game planning for them,” says Warren.

Head coach John Cassellius is also keeping the emotions at bay by telling the team it is just another game and to play the best game they can and enjoy homecoming week and dance.
