Bulldogs Outlast Panthers In HSH Opener

The 2018-19 High School Hoops on HBC season started in Plainview, as the Plainview-Elgin-Millville Bulldogs hosted the Pine Island Panthers in Girls Basketball.

Both teams got out to a slow start in the game, but the first half ended with PEM holding a 25-21 advantage.

The second half, though, showed the difference between the two teams.  PEM shut down the Panthers, allowing just 15 points in the second half, while doubling their own first half total.

Taylor Nelson, who was a force on both offense and defense in the first half, scored 11 points before the break, and ended the game with 14.  However, Macy Holtz was slightly more consistent through the game, and finished with 13.  Rylee Nelson came off the bench to chip in 9 points.

The Panthers were led by Brooke Sinning, who battled foul trouble, and scored 10 points.  Kendra Kundert was a main focus of the Panther offense, but was also in the defensive sights of the Bulldogs.  She finished with 8 points, going 4-of-6 from the free throw line.
