Buffering is the process of preloading data so you have a loaded “buffer” that creates a smooth streaming experience. People most often experience buffering while streaming videos. Your device will stream ahead of what you are watching so there’s always video ready for you to watch. While there are many causes for buffering, it often comes down to not having enough speed.
Number of Devices
The speed you need is based on the number of devices on your network. The more devices you have, the more speed you need.
Online Activities
If you are browsing social media or checking email, a slower speed might cut it—but if you are streaming or gaming, you will need more speed.
Internet Speed
Speed is shared amongst all devices on your network. If you have 150 Mbps and 10 devices, each device may only get 15 Mbps.
