Former Hiawatha Broadband Communications president and CEO, Gary Evans, was recently inducted into the Winona County Fair “Hall of Fame.”
Members of the Winona County Fair Board honored Evans for his many hours of volunteer efforts over the past many years. He said he lives the words told to him as a child by his grandmother, “Always leave things better than when you found them.” In accepting the honor, Evans said, “Volunteers rarely do anything by themselves. And I hope that all of you volunteer.”
Evans went on to say that being inducted into the Winona County Fair “Hall of Fame” was a very significant honor and one that he would cherish forever. All “Hall of Fame” honorees also receive there own day of the fair.
Evans served as HBC president and CEO from 1998 – 2013.
