Winona, MN – David Adcock has been named chief operating officer of Hiawatha Broadband Communications (HBC).
The appointment was announced today by Gary Evans, HBC president and CEO.
In his new assignment, Adcock is responsible for several HBC teams including customer service, outside sales, field operations and the broadband service center.

Adcock is a veteran of the U.S. Navy’s Advanced Electronics Program, and has been involved in advanced telecommunications services for the past 20 years.
“I began my career in telecom after proudly serving my country, and quickly found out that my passion was problem solving by creating valuable and meaningful relationships with people”.
Adcock has lived and worked in the Winona area since 1995 and joined HBC in 2000. “My team installed the first telephone customer in Winona for HBC, and it has been my goal to deliver reliable telephone service to HBC customers to this day,” said Adcock, who managed HBC voice services technology for 12 years.
“I am so excited about the future of my HBC partners, and our loyal customers and future customers,” Adcock states. “We are now delivering an unmatched level of service. Our new IT Business Services Division and HBC Air Wireless Internet service allows us to serve customers that we previously could not.”
Adcock currently is focused on HBC expansion into six communities (Dover, Eyota, Elgin, Plainview, Lake City and Red Wing), and the Digital Now and U.S. Ignite initiatives that will bring never before seen Internet speeds and advanced services to the communities served by HBC.

Hiawatha Broadband Communications Inc. (HBC) is a southeastern Minnesota telecommunications service provider. The company delivers voice, video and data applications to a customer base that numbers more than 12,000.
HBC’s roots are in a non-profit project begun in 1993, called Luminet. Luminet connected Winona education, healthcare and government institutions to extend the reach of teaching and learning. In 1997, the success of Luminet led to the formation of Hiawatha Broadband Communications, Inc. Today, HBC company operates in 16 markets with 40 percent of its stock owned by non-profit entities.
