For Immediate Release
Cannon Falls, MN – Hiawatha Broadband Communications, Inc. (HBC) is preparing to activate a new portion of its high-speed fiber-optic broadband network in Cannon Falls.
Officials with HBC say construction was recently completed in northeastern Cannon Falls, in the area around Troll Haven Park, with customer installations to the high-speed fiber-optic broadband network to begin there following testing of the network.
HBC president Dan Pecarina said much of Cannon Falls can now receive HBC services.
“We are very excited to be bringing a state-of-the-art fiber-optic broadband network to the residents and businesses of Cannon Falls,” Pecarina said. “For the past year we have been providing services to around 400 residences and businesses in the city. With completion of this portion of the project, nearly 800 additional homes can now be served with Gigabit Internet speeds.”
Pecarina added that in addition to receiving high-speed broadband, customers will also be able to subscribe to HBC’s Video and Phone services.
HBC will be hosting an open house on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at the Artisan Plaza from 4:30 pm until 7:00 pm. Interested residents are invited to stop by to enjoy a complementary meal and learn more about HBC service options.
Company officials are hopeful construction in a portion of the city located between Bridge Street and the high school and the Cannon Valley Trail Highway 19 can be completed by the end of the year.
