Hastings, MN – Hiawatha Broadband Communications, Inc. (HBC) announces fiber-optic Internet and Phone services are now available in Hastings .

The Ochs family had the distinction of becoming the first HBC residential customers in Hastings. HBC Director of Technical Operations, Michael Barker, said services became available on October 11th.
“As of today, over 750 residences in the area roughly from South Frontage Road south to 15th Street West and from Honeysuckle Lane west to O’Connell Drive have HBC services available to them,” he said. “Before the end of the year 800 homes will have access to HBC services”
President of HBC, Dan Pecarina, said the high-speed fiber-optic network HBC is building in the Hastings community will be capable of delivering speeds as fast as 10 Gigabits.
“Hastings will have access to some of the fastest speeds in the county,” according to Pecarina. “The technology we are deploying is very robust allowing for the greatest connectivity and ultra-fast speeds.”
HBC opened its local office in July and will be hosting a ribbon cutting with the Hastings Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, October 26 at 10:45 a.m. One of HBC’s cornerstones is providing local customer care and support. Their Hastings office is staffed with a local customer care team which includes an on-site Wizards Technical Support Technician.
“It’s always been very important to us that whether you walk into one of our local offices or call on the phone, that you are speaking with someone local,” Pecarina said.
