Hiawatha Broadband to Offer Free Community Wi-Fi During COVID-19

Winona, MN – In an effort to provide local residents with access to free, reliable communication options,Hiawatha Broadband Communications (HBC) announced today that it will be offering free community Wi-Fi.

HBC President Dan Pecarina made the announcement this morning saying it was important during this time to make sure everyone has access to this community resource.

“As this health crisis continues, we wanted to make sure everyone could have access to a free form of online communication,” Pecarina said. “As self-distancing protocols begin to be implemented, it is important that people are still able to connect with each other. This is just one way our company can make that happen.”

HBC Community Wi-Fi access locations in Winona include: Levee Park, Lake Winona, Sobieski Park, Winona Marina, Pla-Mor Campground, Prairie Island Campground, Dick’s Marine, Forest River Campground; in Lake City at Camp Lacupolis, Lake City Marina; Whippoorwill Kampground in Kellogg and White Water Valley Campground in Altura.

Pecarina said HBC will be activating a number of additional Wi-Fi hot spots throughout Winona in the coming days.
