Fiber-Optic Network Construction

Building a fiber-optic network takes months of planning—from network design and ordering of equipment to locating utilities and actual construction, there is a great deal of work to be done before we can connect your home to HBC fiber services.

Rest assured, our team is committed to working efficiently and ensuring the work is done right the first time around. Our goal is to keep you informed as we move through the process and get your home connected as quickly as possible.

Helpful Information

Ready to sign up for HBC service? Click “Live Chat” in the bottom right corner to chat with us online, call us at (888) 474-9995, or stop by your local HBC office.

To connect your home to HBC services, a fiber-optic line (“drop”) is required and can be buried to your home while we are constructing the network. This will be done at no additional cost to you and will prepare your home to receive HBC services as soon as construction is complete.

During the colder months, a temporary drop can be installed to bring services to your home and will be buried in the spring when ground conditions allow.

Once boring and fiber drops are completed, crews will work to restore any mild lawn disturbances by smoothing out the soil and adding grass seed.

Complete the Drop Burial Authorization Form online.

01/06/26

Happy New Year, Empire residents!
We hope you enjoyed a wonderful holiday season and a great start to 2026.

As a reminder, PONs T and V (Cabrilla Way) are fully released, and Flight Fiber Internet services are now available in these areas. If you haven’t connected yet, our team would love to help you get started—and there are some great offers on the table, including a 5-Year Price Guarantee on all Internet speeds. In other words, no sneaky increase—just straightforward pricing you can count on.

Construction updates will resume later this spring as additional work gets underway. We’re looking forward to continuing to expand our fiber network and serve even more residents across the Empire area.
