Evolution HD-uDTA Remote–Standard Video Service Only
IT’S SIMPLE TO PROGRAM YOUR REMOTE TO CONTROL YOUR TV.
Your remote control is already programmed to control your HD Set-Top Box. To control your TV functions (TV Input, TV Power, VOL+, VOL- and Mute), follow the steps below:
HERE’S HOW:
- Install the batteries.
- Find the manufacturer’s code for your TV (see below).
- Turn on your TV and digital set-top box or HD Set-Top Box.
- On your remote, press and hold the Setup button until the Indicator LED changes from red to green.
- Enter the first manufacturer’s code you found in Step 2. The Indicator LED will flash green twice.
- Press the TV Power button on the remote control. If the TV turns off, you know the code has been accepted. Turn the TV back on and make sure that the VOL +/- and Mute buttons also work. If so, you’re all set!
- If not, repeat these steps using the next manufacturer’s code found in Step 2 (You may need to try several codes to find the one that works for your TV). If you still can’t find a code that works, see the “Can’t Find Your Code?” section.
CAN’T FIND YOUR CODE?
If you can’t program your remote using the codes that are further down on this guide, follow the steps below to search for your code.
- Turn on your TV.
- On your remote, press and hold the Setup button until the Indicator LED changes from red to green.
- Enter A.
- Press the CH∧ button multiple times until the TV turns off.
- After the TV turns off, press Setup.
- Successful TV IR code storage is indicated by 2 green blinks.
Additional Features: If you would like to place your HD Set-Top Box out of line of sight (for example, in an entertainment center or behind your TV), follow the instructions above to program the remote control for your TV, then refer to the “Installing your HD Set-Top Box out of sight” instructions below.
INSTALLING YOUR HD SET-TOP BOX OUT OF SIGHT.
Your remote control can be paired directly with your HD Set-Top Box, allowing you to place the device out of the line of sight (in an entertainment center or behind your TV, for example).
Follow the steps below to pair your remote control with your HD Set-Top Box.
Once your remote control is paired to a specific HD Set-Top Box, it will not control any other HD Set-Top Box in your home.
If you would like to use your remote control for another HD Set-Top Box in your home you can “un-pair” the devices by following the instructions included in the “Remove remote control pairing” section of this document.
HERE’S HOW:
- Program your remote to control your TV as described in the “It’s simple to program your remote to control your TV” section. If you’ve already done this, proceed to Step 2.
- Press the Menu button and select Remote Control and then select Remote Control Pairing. Please insure you have line of site of the HD Set-Top Box during the paring process.
- Press and hold the Setup button until the Indicator LED changes from red to green.
- Press the Menu button on the remote control. Your TV should display on-screen instructions. If the on-screen instructions do not appear, you may need to press the Menu button again–up to two more times.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to enter the 3-digit code that appears.
- Once the code is correctly entered, your remote will be paired with the HD Set-Top Box connected to your TV.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION ABOUT PAIRING:
Q: Why does the Indicator LED flash green then red during pairing?
A: The device you are paring with may not be powered on, or it may not support Device Pairing technology. Confirm the box is powered on and supports Device Pairing technology.
REMOVE REMOTE CONTROL PAIRING (FORCE UN-PAIR)
If you would like to use your remote control for a different set-top box, you must first un-pair the remote control from the current device. Follow the steps below to remove pairing.
- Press and hold the Setup button until the Indicator LED changes from red to green.
- Enter 9-8-7 on the remote control.
- The Indicator LED will blink green twice.
RESET THE TV IR CODE
- Press and hold the Setup button for three seconds until the Indicator LED changes from red to green.
- Enter 9-8-6 on the remote control.
- The Indicator LED will blink green twice
FACTORY RESET THE REMOTE CONTROL UNIT
- Press and hold the Setup button for three seconds until the Indicator LED changes from red to green.
- Enter 9-8-1 on the remote control.
- The Indicator LED will blink twice
Remember, when using your remote control with a new TV or HD Set-Top Box, you may need to reprogram the remote control to operate those devices.
Follow the steps included earlier in this guide to program or reprogram your remote.
TroubleShooting
GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING
Q: Why does the indicator LED flash red, but there is no response when I press a key?
A: Make sure the remote is aimed at your TV and is no further than 15 feet away. Also, make sure your HD Set-Top Box is powered on and in plain sight.
Q: Why does the Indicator LED turn red while I am programming my remote?
A: You may have entered the wrong code. Check the code and try programming again.
PAIRED REMOTE TROUBLESHOOTING
Q: How can I tell which HD Set-Top Box my remote control has been paired with?
A: Once paired to a device, the remote will only work with that specific HD Set-Top Box.

“CAUTION”: Exposure to Radio Frequency Radiation. Antenna shall be mounted in such a manner to minimize the potential for human contact during normal operation. The antenna should not be contacted during operation to avoid the possibility of exceeding the FCC radio frequency exposure limit.
